It's also a crime in Canada, but you generally don't get charged since your spouse will financially destroy you in the divorce

I think it should still serve a purpose, sure.
Even if only a slap on the wrist fee and a mention on judicial record.. every little warning serves a purpose, no?

It would be useful in a lawsuit over infidelity, during divorce proceedings. I have heard of spouses suing over infidelity, in a cicil court. This might be how they did it.
